SNS CO-OP Kick-Off Meeting
What is SNS CO-OP?
SNS CO-OP serves as a support project for the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), orchestrating strategic activities that advance European leadership in 6G technologies. Working closely with the SNS JU Office and the 6G Industry Association, the project coordinates efforts to capture and promote European industry perspectives on 6G whilst showcasing achievements from across the SNS initiative.
Building on established platforms and communities, SNS CO-OP facilitates collaboration amongst a wide network of 6G stakeholders. The project ensures continuity of SNS facilities and contributes to organising flagship events, including the EUCNC & 6G Summit in 2025 and 2026. Through its coordinated approach, SNS CO-OP strengthens the alignment of activities across the SNS community whilst maximising the impact of European research and innovation in telecommunications.
BUILDING A ROBUST COORDINATION FRAMEWORK:
From stakeholder engagement to event management
The kick-off meeting outlined SNS CO-OP's coordination approach through key work package presentations. Strategic focus areas include global stakeholder engagement, coordination with European and national initiatives, and the organisation of flagship events such as EUCNC & 6G Summit.
A key highlight is that the SNS CO-Op will be on the frontline in organising the next two EuCNC & 6G Summit events, in Poznań (2025) and Málaga (2026), showcasing EU excellence and advancement in the global telco R&D ecosystem.

NAVIGATING KEY MILESTONES: 2025 AND BEYOND
The project set its sights on several major events that will shape its first year. Mobile World Congress 2025 will provide an early opportunity to showcase the SNS community's achievements. This will be followed by EUCNC & 6G Summit in Poznań, where new formats for demonstrations and exhibitions will be introduced. Meanwhile, the 5G Techritory 2025 flagship event in October will offer a unique platform for co-creation and innovative discussions.
“It’s not just about tools - it’s about creating meaningful connections between all stakeholders.”
“We’re not going to work in an isolated way. We are going to work very closely with the SNS community in order to properly handle our activities.”
“Success means developing tools that are not just innovative, but truly usable and accessible for all citizens.”
CHARTING THE COURSE AHEAD TO STRENGTHEN THE SNS COMMUNITY
“Fresh ideas are crucial - we’re not here to reinvent the wheel, but to make things more efficient and impactful.”
“We need to think beyond current models, creating something that can adapt and grow with future needs.”
“We are building something that will strengthen the 6G community as a whole.”
The kick-off meeting concluded with clear priorities for the coming months. These include coordinating the onboarding of new SNS projects, establishing efficient working group operations, and preparing for upcoming major events. With the foundation now set,
SNS CO-OP is ready to support the SNS JU Programme and its R&I community in advancing Europe's telecommunications research and innovation.
